'71 Learning Center Grand Opening Thursday, March 23, 2023
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the '71 Learning Center this morning. The facility is officially open for business!
East Course Grand Opening Monday, January 30, 2023
Back 9 Open Monday, December 19, 2022
The Golf Projects continue to make good progress, and we are going to use the word “OPEN” in this update, so if you are a golfer, please take a moment to read this.
The Club’s goal when introducing the Golf Projects was to have the golf course and practice facilities open in December. We are going to partially accomplish that goal, which we are satisfied with given the adversity the project faced in the market, primarily with materials availability. The Learning Center we always knew would be a spring opening, and that remains on track.
The short story is:
The Practice Grounds
Long Game (driving range) area will OPEN on both the North and South ends on the hitting mats only, on Monday, December 19th. Hours will be limited during the day to allow our staff to retrieve range balls safely.
Hours of Operation: Monday – Sunday 7:00 am until 3:00 pm
Please note that given the new facility, weather and other factors may change opening times and the golf staff will communicate clearly to you, or check the daily course conditions on ForeTees.
Short Game (chipping and putting greens) area will remain closed until the first week of January. The greens need a couple more weeks to mature and we don’t want to open them to the busy holiday period before us. We believe the short game area is more difficult to control/limit access and do not feel the risk of damaging new greens is worth the two weeks of wait.
The East Course
The Back Nine of the East Course will open for play on Monday, December 19th for Member play only. No guests will be allowed on the East course to help minimize traffic. We will reconsider this as play levels are understood and the course matures. The Back Nine will play as a stand-alone nine holes of golf, of which you can book consecutive rounds on to play 18 holes by making a note in the ForeTees system.
The Back Nine will be played as Cart Path only. Push carts will be available and you may use your own personal electric cart. Plenty of sand bottles will be available, please care for the course kindly.
The Front Nine of the East Course we are still targeting for a late January opening.
The practice putting green at the first hole of the East course will also be available ONLY for warm-up practice putting for those playing golf on the East course.
You may go to ForeTees to make your tee times for the East course Back Nine, effective immediately. When making your tee time, please make a note in the field notes if you want to play 9 or 18 holes and the golf staff will accommodate.
Comfort Station
The new comfort station located between the 10th tee and 15th tee WILL NOT be open on Monday, but will be soon. Construction of the building is ready, but specific plumbing valves required by Seacoast for connection to sewer lines are delayed in shipping. With that, we have no water or sewer yet, so that building will remain locked until those valves arrive and are installed.
The Learning Center
The Learning Center construction is progressing nicely with no major delays to date. We are still targeting a late March to early April opening.

BallenIsles Golf Academy Learning Center
The following suggestions listed below should be considered for BallenIsles to enhance the overall golfing experience and to stay competitive in the highly elite private country club market.
The BallenIsles Golf Academy Professionals are projected to teach over 4,000 lessons in 2021, an increase of 20% over the five-year average. The staff is well educated and motivated about teaching the game of golf. Studies show that practice is a very important component to today’s country club member. Golfers today rely so much more on validating information through technology, whether it be for their swing or purchasing new clubs.
Current weaknesses
- Lack of private space with the latest teaching technologies.
- Inability to perform the very best in custom club fittings.
- Transporting demo clubs daily out to the practice tee.
- Lack of ideal club repair space.
Our immediate competitive market include - Bear Lakes, Ibis, St. Andrews.
Note: Admirals Cove 2022 and Mirasol 2023 have plans to build learning centers.
Other prominent clubs in the area that have learning centers include- The Bears Club, Emerald Dunes, Jupiter Hills, Old Marsh, Old Palm, Floridian, Quail Valley and Trump National Jupiter.
Opportunities
- Construct a Learning Center with indoor and outdoor bays.
- Update to the most up to date technologies for teaching and fitting.
- Move all demo golf equipment and club repair under one roof.
- Provide Professional Fittings that members expect.
- Professionals would be closer in proximity to the short game areas.
- Create a buzz by having all golf learning, practicing and activities in one area.
Goals of a Successful Golf Academy Program:
The goal of a successful BallenIsles Golf Academy Program should be to provide our members quality instruction, utilizing the most current teaching and fitting technologies that ensures improvement, consistency and enjoyment of the game.
BallenIsles Golf Academy Learning Center Plans
Below is a rendering of the proposed Golf Learning Center. This is a two bay enclosed with two covered outdoor hitting bays. The Learning Center will allow the Professional Staff to conduct the very best in club fittings using Track Man radar. The Golf Instructors will also use Track Man radar along with high-speed cameras to evaluate your swing and make improvements. All information can be viewed on a 60 inch TV screen. Club repair can be conducted onsite for certain repairs and all demo equipment will be neatly displayed so you can test equipment and get immediate feedback from the new technology offered. Bringing demo equipment and club repair under one roof will make it a lot more convenient when using this service.
The Golf Learning Center should be considered for BallenIsles to enhance the overall golfing experience and to stay competitive in the highly elite private country club market.
